As a healer at heart with an ethic of joyful movement and living, I’ve always been fascinated with the link between physical and mental health. I’m a firm believer that, as a society, we hold too high of a regard for the yang energy – praising overwork at the expense of self-care. In my whole career so far, whether that be teaching music, leading fitness classes or designing wellbeing concepts, I’ve striven to impart my knowledge of health and wellbeing in an accessible and joyful way, that will give participants self-care skills that will last a lifetime. The proudest moment of my career was delivering a mindfulness session in Ibiza to a 15 year old boy with Asperger's, who struggled greatly in social situations, and had had a traumatic flight from London. I taught him some easy to remember “superpowers”, including the 54321 mindfulness technique, and the psychotherapy adrenaline countdown. When the boy returned home with his parents, I received a grateful text from his mum to say that her son had told himself to “remember what Rivkah said” and had a much easier time flying home. I believe this to be the moment I decided to dedicate myself to wellbeing.
I am constantly learning and thirsty for knowledge in all things wellbeing, from spending a month in India for my Yoga teacher training, to expanding my knowledge with becoming a Reiki healer and Pranayama therapy specialist, to diving deep into frequencies of music to heal chakras, to burying my head in books about enzymes and gut health. I am dedicated to both learning and sharing my wisdom on all things Wellness, and I would love a bigger platform in which to do so. With a BA Hons degree and multiple other qualifications in music, acting and dancing, I am very passionate about creativity, expression and joy and I believe I could bring a new dimension of wellbeing to the team, while retaining and building upon the beautiful and accessible “healthy and happy” approach I see there already.
I have been fortunate enough to develop many wellbeing concepts for big companies, including David Lloyd Gyms, TUI Sensatori 5* resorts and AirB&B experiences; leading meditations for virtual corporate wellness events. I have most recently developed a “Mindful Moments” event for the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt team, for employees to be able to take 5 minutes per day for self care.
On top of this, I have also been able to expand on my organisation and management experience in my roles as Workshop Coordinator for the top Stage Combat organisation in the UK, becoming Wellbeing Supervisor in Sensatori Ibiza, heading teams of dance and theatre teachers in Shooting Stars academy, leading Wellbeing Week at Manchester University and quality checking the group exercise instructors for the Central London cluster of PureGym.
I am a very positive, enthusiastic person and my favourite compliments I receive often are that I have a great energy, I am like a human crystal, and that I am the happiest person they’ve ever met! I would love the opportunity to work for this company and help in spreading wisdom and light in an easy to understand and joyful way.
