Jessica O’Kelly - Performance Psychology Coach

Before training as a Sport and Performance Psychologist, I started my professional career in 2016 working in forensic and Child and Adolescent Mental health services delivering individual and group psychological interventions.

My unique journey has shaped my practice where my experience has provided me with a sophisticated skill set and psychological grounding to identify and challenge maladaptive thinking and behaviour in a range of clients.

Applying these skills in athletic and high-performance settings has created a unique and highly effective approach. With my support you get the best of both worlds, with the combined effect of clinical tools merged with scientifically proven techniques that enhance performance. I empower my clients to develop sustainable cycles of functioning to optimise performance and enhance wellbeing.

About the session

◎ Session 1 – Online based session to understand the current situation and set relevant goals. Included: Psychological Assessment, Performance Profiling, Goal setting ◎ Session 2 - Identify any unhelpful patterns of functioning (no matter how big or small) that are preventing you from reaching your full potential - Develop an awareness of how your emotions and brain have developed and how this impacts your current performance and wellbeing (for good and for bad…) ◎ Session 3 – 12 (and onwards) - Develop personalised mental skills programs that are aligned with your performance goals and crucially complimentary to how your brain and emotions have developed and currently function









Through my sessions with jess, I have started to enjoy playing competitive sport again - something I have not been able to do for a long time! I have developed my awareness of self critical thoughts and how they impact my nerves and the way in which I think and play during competitive sport. Jess has provided the space and insight for me to begin to understand where these thoughts might come from. I have learnt to be more compassionate to myself and how to effectively manage my emotions under pressurised situations. This has had a huge impact on my ability to perform when things are close. Jess is warm, honest and insightful - thank you for helping me enjoy playing again.

In the sport psychology sessions, we worked on my concentration whilst batting, as I kept getting out after 20 runs. This helped me to maintain my focus on helpful things rather than focusing on the score. My runs improved and my reading of the game became more impactful, like picking the right time to push on or stay in. I look forward to building on this more next season. Thanks Jess.

Since working with Jess, I have been intentionally trying to incorporate a positive mindset into my play and practice. I am better at noticing when there is tension and when this happens using mental skills to move through this effectively. I have learnt to be more compassionate to myself when I make errors, especially during putting – which makes a huge impact and takes off so much pressure. My play continues to improve and I’m way more consistent.

We vet, research and remove coaches and clients on a best endeavours basis when a breach of our policies has occurred. We are not liable for any issues that occur while using connections facilitated through our platform.

Profile assessment - Coaches who apply to list on our site are assessed before approval.

Reviews - Our community is built on transparency. Reviews for both clients to coaches and coaches to clients enforce this.

Fraud prevention - Our site provides the capabilities to be able to communicate with coaches through our instant messaging system, and to pay for sessions securely. This reduces the possibility of fraud, but we hold no liability for any actions of coaches or customers operating these systems.

Details covered - We strive for coaches to provide as much information as possible about their sport or wellness activity to ensure the user knows what a session entails.

Our zero-tolerance policy

We cannot express how important your safety is to us therefore we do our best to implement a strict zero-tolerance policy. If any of the below rules are found to be broken, we endeavour to take immediate action by issuing warnings and banning accounts.

Abusive behaviour - Any abuse in either verbal and physical form between coaches and clients; this includes, bullying, racism and hate speech.

Authenticity - Misrepresentation will break the trust of our community. Make sure all the details and information you provide about yourself are truthful.

Breaking Commitments – If consistent behaviour is shown in not delivering a service that was promised.

Reliability - Coaches should ensure the facilities they provide reach industry standards.

Taking clients off the platform - If a coach is found to take business off our platform their account will be immediately suspended.

Unresponsiveness – If coaches fail to communicate with clients after three warnings they will be removed from the platform.
